Josh Hutcherson and Sam Claflin at the MTV Movie Awards

The bromance lives! Photo thanks to lovingeverlark.tumblr.com Josh Hutcherson and Sam Claflin were at the MTV Movie Awards tonight. The Hunger Games: Catching Fire picked up 3 Golden Popcorn Statues at this year's MMAs: Movie of the Year, Best Male Performance for Josh Hutcherson, and Best Female Performance for Jennifer Lawrence. (Get all the details HERE)

Josh didn't walk the red carpet but Sam Claflin and his gorgeous wife, Laura Haddock did. Perhaps they should win an honorary award for being the most adorable couple? Or, wait, maybe that award should go to Sam and Josh.

The pic above was posted by Whitney on tumblr with the caption: So today I went to the red carpet at the MTV Movie Awards and Sam Claflin skipped by saying “sorry I can’t stop, I’m late and I’ve got to mush on through.”

We didn't get Josh on the red carpet (boo!) but we did get some cute shots of him inside the awards. He attended with his little brother Connor. Connor, congrats on becoming an internet sensation.

Vote Katniss as Favorite Character in the 2014 MTV Movie Awards

Looks like MTV is throwing Katniss fans a bone by adding a new category to the MTV Movie Awards, Favorite Character. When the nominations for the MTV Movie Awards were announced, Catching Fire nabbed 7 of them, but we were all pretty surprised that Jennifer Lawrence hadn't been nominated as Best Hero for her performance as Katniss. There was even a very successful petition by Sophie Azran to get her added. Is this our compromise?

You can vote for Katniss in the new category Best Character HERE or vote with the hashtags #votekatniss on Twitter, Instagram and Vine. The best photos and videos from your social media will be featured on this page. The winner of this award will be announced on Sunday April 13th.

Sign The Petition to Add Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen to the "Best Hero" Category at the MTV Movie Awards

When the nominations for the MTV Movie Awards were announced last week, we were excited about the 7 noms The Hunger Games: Catching Fire  received but were scratching our heads over a couple big omissions. Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen was not nominated for Best Hero? What?! Seemed a little strange considering Catching Fire is the first film with a female lead to top the box office in 4 decades.

Leave it to our passionate fandom to not take this lying down. Sophie Azran, a college student and one of our favorite members of The Hunger Games fandom (and amazing graphic artist, check out her tumblr), started a petition to get Katniss added to the nominations for Best Hero. The petition reads:

There is not a single woman in the Hero Category. Don't let a strong woman like Katniss be overlooked!

Please sign and share this petition before April 13 to demand that MTV add Katniss Everdeen to the "Best Hero" category at the MTV Movie Awards.

Young women already have too few female heroes represented in film and television. We're constantly shown by the entertainment industry that men are brave, powerful, or successful, while women are often given supporting roles and weak characters.

I loved The Hunger Games, not just because it was a thrilling story, but because I admired the courage, intelligence, and persistence of Katniss Everdeen. Teen girls and young women everywhere need to see that courageous, principled women can be rewarded just like men.

The MTV Movie Awards are widely watched by a young adult audience. It's appalling to me that the event's producers are ignoring this female hero, especially since this film beat out all the others at the box office. But unlike the Oscars, the MTV Movie awards encourages public involvement, allowing the public to vote on winners. If enough of us ask for Katniss to be added, I'm confident that MTV will listen.

And it's getting national attention. E! News ran the story today, and TheWrap and IBTimes ran stories about it as well.

Feel the same? Sign the petition HERE. We did!

VIDEO: Alan Ritchson Talks 'Catching Fire'

Alan Ritchson, who plays Gloss in Catching Fire, walked the red carpet at the 2013 MTV Movie Awards and talked about his his positive experience on set.

from MTV Hollywood Crush:

"No hazing, fortunately," he said, laughing. Instead, he described "Catching Fire" as a great place to be, adding, "But to be a part of that, it was pretty cool. Jennifer's star just continued to rise, even through production...it was just cool to be there."

And not only was Alan not put through the wringer by his co-stars, he said that everyone, particularly the fantabulous Stanley Tucci (with whom he did his pre-Games interview scene), was "super-generous and giving."

Meanwhile, the actor says that the scenes he's most looking forward to seeing on the big screen are the same one the fans are likely clamoring for: the highly anticipated action sequences from the 75th Hunger Games.

"We shot some cool scenes," he said. "I like the really physical kind of action stuff. I spent months training for this stuff, fight training, and becoming a dagger specialist. All those things in the arena are going to be a lot of fun."

Alan also talked to E! about watching Sam Claflin break his hand during production of Catching Fire:

"Sam got hurt the worst," Alan Ritchson, who plays Gloss in Catching Fire, told me at the MTV Movie Awards. "He broke his hand doing a stunt."

Don't look for footage of the mishap in a DVD extra, though.

"It was in rehearsal, so we weren't even shooting," Ritchson said. "He broke it on the stunt guy, warming up. I was standing right next to him. It was tough to watch."

But, Ritchson said, Claflin "took it like a champ—he took it and kept moving."

Jennifer Lawrence Wins 2 MTV Movie Awards

With all the Catching Fire Trailer excitement, we almost forgot to mention that Jennifer Lawrence picked up TWO MTV Movie Awards last night!

Jen snagged the golden popcorn for Best Female Performance and Best Kiss with Bradley Cooper, both for her work as Tiffany Maxwell in Silver Linings Playbook.

Bradley picked up the Best Kiss Awards for Jen saying, "Sorry Jennifer isn't here....she WAS great to kiss!"

While it's slightly (!) less prestigious than an Oscar, congrats Jen!
