Seventeen Magazine's 10 Secrets from Catching Fire Cast

American teen magazine Seventeen recently featured an article entitled "10 Secrets from the Catching Fire Cast."

Josh and Jennifer Swapped MAJOR Kiss Spit!

"When I watched the playback of the kiss between Jennifer and me, there was this slobber string and it was so gross! In the moment, I didn't realize what was going on."

—Josh Hutcherson, Peeta

They Played a Goofy Game!

"We had this funny game we used to play on set. I don't even know how it started! Basically, somebody would make the 'OK' sign with their hand and would hold it down real low, and if somebody saw it, they stuck their finger in it. It sounds ridiculous, but it went on the entire shoot!

—Lenny Kravitz, Cinna

What Josh Brought Everywhere

"I don't have a good luck charm I bring on set, but I did bring my speaker set! I brought my portable wireless speaker set because I have to have music everywhere."

—Josh Hutcherson, Peeta

How the Tributes Trained

"We did a lot of martial arts training. There's a lot of choreography where I'm spinning around and whipping these [knives] and rolling around. It was taxing, but it was a lot of fun!"

—Alan Ritchson, Gloss

 The Costume Lenny Kept!

"I kept one thing from the set. There's a leather jacket that Cinna wore in some scenes, and I had to have it. I made sure that it went with me."

—Lenny Kravitz, Cinna

 Peeta's Makeup Prep Routine

"It took 20 minutes [to do my face makeup] on days where I had a bad breakout—which happened a lot on set! Covering up my tattoos adds another hour and a half.

—Josh Hutcherson, Peeta

How They Bonded Off Camera

"We had a lot of down time on set, so the Tributes and I would all hang out together and watch movies. Alan Ritchson [who plays Gloss] and I shared a trailer, so people migrated toward us. Our trailer always had someone in it!"

—Stephanie Leigh Schlund, Cashmere

The Longest Scene to Film

"The Cornucopia scene took us weeks and weeks to shoot. It's kind of funny because what could be just five seconds on-screen in the movie probably took us a week and a half to film. For me, it's a month of memories, but some of the segments are going to go by so fast!"

—Alan Ritchson, Gloss

Lenny Kravitz on Cinna's Exit From 'The Hunger Games' Series

Our Cinna and renaissance man, Lenny Kravitz was just featured in an article on THR.com in which he discusses his design firm Kravitz Design, Inc and his new set design for Queen Latifah's upcoming talk show. While we absolutely LOVE Lenny's design sensibility, we were REALLY intrigued by the tiny Catching Fire tidbit at the end of the article. SPOILER ALERT!

In Catching Fire, out Nov. 22, his fashion-designer character, Cinna, will meet a violent end.

"After my death scene, everyone's like, 'Oh shit, you're not coming back!' But you move on," he laughs. "It was fun while it lasted." While filming, he also was recording a new album, due out in the spring, at night. "Basically, I didn't sleep for about a month. But I was high off of the creativity," he says. "That sustained me."

Be sure to read the rest of the article and catch up on all of Lenny's design projects here.

Lenny Kravitz: 'Catching Fire' was like "Going Back To Summer Camp"

Lenny Kravitz spoke with Moviefone while promoting The Butler, and he gave us a few tidbits about Catching Fire.
I was at the Catching Fire panel at Comic-Con this year, where you brought up something really interesting: that younger kids are now recognizing you as Lenny Kravitz the actor and not Lenny Kravitz the musician.
Yeah, it first started on a street in Paris. This little kid came up to me and said "Oh, Lenny. Oh, my god! I love your work." I am thinking, You're seven. I was like, "Oh, really, you have the records?" And he said, "No, Hunger Games. I have been getting more of that. A guy came up to my table recently and said, "My daughter would really like a picture with you." Over walks a nine-year-old who has no idea.
So are you finding time to record music, too?
I just finished an album while I was doing Catching Fire -- I had no plan to do this; I was in Atlanta and I like to work in my own studio -- I went in the studio and ended up recording an album at night. So I would be filming Catching Fire all day, go to the studio, work all night, either get no sleep or get an hour or two, and then go right back to work. I did that for, like, three weeks.

How do you think that affected your creative output for each -- doing two things at once and not getting sleep?
It worked! It really did. I should've been so tired. I mean, I was tired but I was so charged creatively that it just worked.

Did you have more confidence going into Catching Fire, since this was your second Hunger Games?
Well, it was really fun. It was like going back to summer camp a second year and seeing all your friends again. The cast, we really have a great chemistry together -- we really dig each other. We have a new director, Francis Lawrence, so there's an unknown there. But from the first day, it was great. He took charge and was wonderful to work with. We had a lot of fun, as we did on the first one. I am looking forward to seeing it myself.

VIDEO: Lenny Kravitz on Cinna's Style

video platformvideo managementvideo solutionsvideo player

We all know that Lenny Kravitz is one stylish man. The singer and actor opened up about his costumes for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire as he returns to the role of Cinna. And it sounds like Cinna is a lot more like Lenny Kravitz, as far as the "look" goes.

"The clothing this time was more in line with how I dress," he told HitFix during Comic-Con. "I felt like I was wearing my own things throughout the film."
